However now take braveness, Zerubbabel,’ declares the LORD, ‘take braveness additionally, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the excessive priest, and all you folks of the land take braveness,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work; for I’m with you,’ declares the LORD of hosts. ‘As for the promise which I made you while you got here out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; don’t worry!’
Haggai 2:4-5 (NASB)

In current posts, I wrote of the exhortation to the Israelites (and us too) “to contemplate your methods.” This was referring to their slackness in rebuilding of the temple; or that of the church and/or believer at the moment in serving God in His home. Right this moment’s scripture comes after the folks repent and start to set about restoring the temple in Jerusalem; it’s a direct encouragement from God by means of His prophet Haggai.

The exhortation to “take braveness” is addressed 3 times to a few separate folks; the governor Zerubbabel, Joshua the Excessive Priest, and the folks of Jerusalem. “Braveness” is from châzaq in Hebrew, which means to be sturdy, seize or fasten to. God particularly addresses these concerned in all phases of the rebuilding of His temple.

Additional, the Almighty offers two good causes to be brave. First that He declares, “for I’m with you” – The Almighty is current with them to each encourage and strengthen them. Second, He reminds them of His guarantees to their forefathers whom He introduced out of Egypt – His promise was nonetheless being saved in them. “My Spirit is abiding in your midst; don’t worry!” What a good looking phrase of encouragement from the Almighty that’s.

Expensive Reader, we are able to apply this to our stroll with God at the moment. His Phrase God exhorts His folks at totally different occasions to “take braveness” – it’s a phrase of encouragement for all God’s kids, together with us. God was current on the rebuilding of His temple in Jerusalem; and He’s current with us at the moment by means of the redemptive work of His Son, our Lord and Saviour. And eventually, the guarantees of God no matter when they’re made, are all reliable and stand at the moment.

“…for He who promised is devoted…” Hebrews 10:23b
