My zeal has consumed me,

On this Lord’s day verse from David we learn of his zeal for God and His Phrase. Zeal is an excessive ardour which is seen by others, and certain impacts the connection of the believer with others – that is what David is talking of in immediately’s verse.
David’s zeal for God made for uncomfortable relationships, to the purpose that sinners in his firm grew to become his enemy – his Godliness shone a light-weight on their darkness, shaming them.
