Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Matthew 5:7 (NASB)
In the present day, within the beautitudes we come to those that are merciful of their lives with others. Mercy comes from the Greek phrase eleēmōn which implies to be actively compassionate unto others, to display mercy in our actions. John MacArthur defines mercy thus:
