“Repentance begins with being trustworthy earlier than God and ourselves about who we’re. On the subject of sin, everybody has a pure impulse to cover, however repentance means discovering the braveness to be trustworthy. It additionally means having religion within the promise of forgiveness.

“However being trustworthy about religion means recognizing that religion is contested on many sides not solely by society, however by our personal experiences, and generally even by the actions of God himself.

“Lastly, repentance means changing into extra human, not much less. As a result of our ideas, wishes,
and actions are so linked with sin, it’s straightforward to view repentance as preventing towards our humanity as if holiness meant making an attempt to stifle as lots of our pure human impulses as potential. However trustworthy repentance acknowledges that sin is the factor that stifles our humanity, whereas repentance leads to our pure impulses functioning extra as God designed them.”

David’s imaginative interweaving of the Previous Testomony foundations of our religion with the challenges we encounter in day by day life helped me probe deeper into what residing the entire life as a lifetime of repentance really means in taking the Phrase of the Lord into my very own life.
