Lord, information us in your means, and mercifully lead our thirsting minds to the fountain of your knowledge, that we could also be free from heavy sorrows, and drink within the sweetness of life everlasting; via Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Mozarabic, earlier than A.D. 700. Revised from Prayers Historic and Trendy.
I want you to show me daily, in keeping with every day’s alternatives and wishes. Give me, Lord, purity of conscience. My ears are boring, and I can’t hear your voice. My eyes are dim, and I can’t see your indicators. You alone can open my ears, clarify my sight, and cleanse and renew my coronary heart. Educate me to sit down at your ft, and to listen to your Phrase. Amen.
Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801–1890). Revised from Prayers Historic and Trendy.
